What is the deal make a time and place i will be there if my talon lets me!

It looks like all the interest from the main people who go has been lost. So i dont think this will happen at this date, but i am researching for another date later on in the end of the summer towards fall.

End of summer I think would be best at this point. We tried establishing a date but it seemed that no one could agree on anything. I'll be talking to a few people and making definate plans with a definate date. If you can join then great, and if not then sorry. We can't keep changing things... that's what makes it fall apart. We'll pick a date that would give people plenty of time to plan things.

I would have to agree that at this point the end of the summer sounds alot better to me. I'm changing jobs (again) and have got way too much going on to even be able to make a June meet so yeah... later.

Ok, well I just checked orbitz and expedia and virginia beach is booked up unless you want to pay over $100 a night. So I do not know if you want to stay outside and drive in or what so let me know, or would you guys like to go somewhere else?
The dates I checked were Aug 25-27 and Sept 1-3.

when does the off season start? Would there still be anyone there then?

off season doesnt start until mid to late september and even then the prices arent as good as myrtle

That would be great, anytime in may or june since I live 10 minutes form the ocean front.

Ok guys, sorry the SOVADSM.com site lost its database due to our glorious host...but thats not what is important now. What is important is getting a date locked down. Someone step up and pick a date!

Lets get this setup and locked down so people can plan accordingly!

Give me a week to set a location in stone that is close to the interstate and has food and hotels close by. I will post up a location soon. We really need to agree on a date though so I can tell the location I choose the date in advance.

Um, I know there's a few more DSM boards popping up here in the SE but honestly don't you think the details about an annual meet started and continued by DSMTuners members ought to be hashed out over here and then all the other forums made aware? I by no means don't want to start a pissing contest but I'm only a member on two DSM sites. My state and here. I really wouldn't want to have to register on 48 different sites to be brought up to speed on things. Wouldn't you agree?
Thanks,
Doug

Actually Doug, I couldn't disagree more. Seeing as a better part of the SoVaDSM guys are also Tuners members as well, Aggression is just trying to help solidify the details so we can help plan accordingly on our end. I think that if the arrangements get carried over to the other forums that cater to the area, you will get a better response. (i.e. locations for get togethers, sleeping accomodations, etc.) Again, most everyone in the area is a Tuners member, so I think that input from all aspects is warranted.

It's not like SoVaDSM guys are trying to steal the thunder; we just figure that since we are local, we could help take some of the hassle out of some of the arrangements and thereby make it easier for some of you guys that will be coming in from out of the area.

Last that I was aware of, aside from Team Trinity; SoVa DSM is the only other organized group of enthusiasts geographically tied to the area.

Personally, I could give a shit about this. My man is trying to help the process, and basically being told to get bent for his input.

Its all good Paul!

I was just trying to get a solid date setup so I could schedule that with the owners of the location we pick. I know how these threads go on and the date keeps changing to try and accomidate everyone that wants to come....which is fine to a degree. People keep coming up saying that date doesen't work for me and guess what its not going to work for everyone...plain and simple.

So I guess I will let you all handle this and take a seat off to the side then. Sorry for intruding.

Good luck with everything and I will be there whenever/wherever you have it. I look forward to meeting everyone!

I understand what you are saying and I agree with you somewhat the problem is that this hasnt ever been done twice in one year but we had such a blast in Myrtle Beach that we wanted to do it again instead of waiting until next february. The Problem being there hasnt been a set date like the previous meet where it is a set date every year and people try work around but we also have a few months notice. Its great that you took the initiative to set a date and place but the problem was that it was too soon to the day you set it and being in the summer months its alot harder to work around schedules. Another factor is that i had done alot of research into hotels and places to stay, and they are alot more expensive then Myrtle Beach, almost double. We all try to stay in the same hotel so that its very easy to stay together even though that usually doesnt happen but dinners do. it takes alot of planning to do this we have to call restaurants to make plus seating resverations for all three meals, or if your ed and you dont stop eating. Dont take it the wrong way its not that we dont appreciate it, its that it takes alot more then just setting a date.

Trust me I know what your saying, but you really can't set a location or call anyplace if you don't have a date set.

If you call a resturant/hotel/location owner...they are going to need to know a date or close to when so they can tell you what is available in their schedule. Also the sooner you know the date the sooner you can start doing all the planning it takes to make something of this caliber together and not just thrown together last minute style.

I know it takes a lot to set something like this up. I've helped setup events like this before with other organzations. So all I was trying to do was help get the ball rolling on setting a date....thats all. I know you know and understand all this already so I know you guys will handle this just fine.

Actually this is not true, we had 3 ECRT in one summer. Myrtle, Ocean City MD and VA Beach. They all went well.

I usually head them up with help from Doug. But frankly I just have tooo many things going on right now to really worry about a trip. I love them to death but there is a lot of planning involved.

Last time in VA we had our dinner at Dirty Dicks and had an absolute BLAST.

I'm sorry you misunderstood what I was trying to say so let me try and explain it again.

This is a national car club forum viewed by people from multiple states. Local car club sites STILL get viewed by people out of state on a limited scale. However, in this instance the site would PROBABLY be bombarded by all the people wanting to view the thread related to the meet and that's it.

The simple fact of the matter is that in EVERY East Coast Road Trip meet the local support has been VERY minimal. I've been to local car club meets in NC, I've been to Team Trinity Meets, and I've been to other meets. They've all been fun and many have been well organized OR at least good at improvisation. But none of the local groups have ever helped these ECRT meets with the organization and participation has been also been lacking.

If you take the time to log on to this site, read these ECRT threads and want to attend then it only takes a few DIFFERENT keystrokes to be part of the planning on HERE and NOT mis-interpretting people's thoughts and ideas.

Now, if you think I just said "Get Bent" in a different manor then you've mis-interpretted it AGAIN and I was really saying "GET UNBENT AND REMOVE YOUR HEAD FROM YOUR ASS."

If by chance you understand that I was NOT trying to start a multi-state DSM Pissing match then I look forward to your assistance, on DSMTuners, getting this NATIONAL car club meet organized for everyone who wants to show up.
Thanks,
Don't-get-bent-Doug

Apparently,we're in the same spot that we were in when this thread first started.....All these dsms down here that i've seen in the few months i've been here, and not a damn thing can still be thought of.....I wish I knew this place better.
