just a few quick questions..i read that it comes with a built in turbo timer...this does come stock correct? or is it an added option such as the window roll up feature? what noise does it make when you arm the car? ive herd diff. renditions of "viper armed" and so on... overall feelings about this alarm? do people like it? not like it? thanx guys for the feedback!

i have the same alarm, no there is not a turbo timer built in and as far as i know you have to get a totally different alarm for that so look for somethign else

Hmmm I have a Viper 791VX and as long as you get it installed with remote start, it will have the turbo timer feature. All you do when your getting out is hold two buttons, it will beep and stay on for the set amount of time. you can lock and arm the car while its still running and the icon will be on saying the car is on. After the set amount of time it beeps with a little deeenooooo...tellling you that the car has shut down and the icon will go away.

Edit: The car COMES with that feature but it must be installed illegally as it is illegal to have it on a manual car. Whover said that it doesnt come with the fature must not have had it installed. I can take pictures of the book it comes with that talks about the turbo timer feature in it that comes STOCK with it. I do however want to get the window roll up/down feature installedd but I dont have money, other things before that. I just needed security first cuz cars are stolen a lot in my area.

This is a old thread, but I've been researching DEI alarms for the last 2 days so I can help a little here. The turbo timer feature is built-in on the 791xv and will work if the remote start is hooked up and can be operated on a Manual transmission car by unplugging the clutch switch.

The "Viper Armed" voice is an add-on Vocalarm® Universal Voice Module unit, DEI Part # 516U which is sold on ebay for $45 (search for Viper 516U).

I was wondering about the clutch switch. If you disconnect that, won't you have cruise control problems though? Well, not problems but won't the cruise stay on if you press the clutch, whereas, the cruise will disconnect if you press the clutch in normally?
Also, if you remove the clutch switch will you be able to start the car with pressing in the clutch?

is this system hard to wire up on your own? (sorry for jacking)

I was quoted 200 with keyless entry installed... just for install

Not really, if you are good with electrical wiring. If you are getting the Viper alarm, you need to have it professionally installed for warranty.
