Video camera mount

I’m looking to purchase a video camera mount for taking video from inside the car. I don’t have a roll cage or harness bar to attach the mount to. The mount will be used mainly during spirited driving on country roads. I would rather avoid a suction cup mount, but am willing to consider one if it works well. Can anyone give a recommendation on a quality camera mount? Thanks.

ya just need a plate (alumin or steel ) with 2 holes spread appart the same span as
the 2 legs on the head rest. thats the easy part.. fab'n up the mount may take a lil more effort (get a cheep tripod for parts? )
then ya just yank out the head rest (push of a button) set the mount in and replace the headrest.
im hoping you would be using a digital vid camera so its not heavy as all get out.

Wow, that's actually a really good idea... i've been thinking about mounting a camera myself and for some reason never thought about using the headrest

Take a look a the gloppy, crap mounts they use in cop cars, with sheet metal screws through whatever soft surace is nearby. You'd not have it in a car you owned.

These little slugs are all over eBay, for a lot less than ten bucks. With a laptop, you can take it and stick it anyplace:

Yeah this one would be perfect. But what about us guys that have aftermarket seating?? I dont have removable headrests..... Any other suggestions??

I don't know how high the seats sit, but couldn't you just use the holes for the harness that are above the shoulders instead of putting it around the headrest?
