vibration problem

Hey, just bought my first DSM last weekend 92 tsi, and I already broke it. Has a bad virbration threw the car at idle and has no power when boost comes on now. just let me know what you think, has balance shft eliminator kit, 190lph pump, 3" exhaust, and 15psi, otherwise a pretty stock DSM.

Have you done basic maintnence mods? Basic tune up? Check all filters and spark plugs? What kind of RPM is it when at idle? Is car a manual or auto? You really sorta left out a lot of details so none of us can really point you in the right direction. When you say "I broke it already" please further explain

x2 ^ Kinda sounds like a misfire. Id pull the plugs and check that first. Also maybe check for vaccume leaks.

^^ i understand the " i broke it already' .. was meant as a funny, get some humor we need it when dealing with these ornery cars that we love so much.

i dont want to be the guy saying all the "could be's" but things to look at might be plugs, timing, maby one injector is plugged. cam/crank sensors ...

not that i want you to risk breaking any thing more but when u drove it home do you recall if it still boosted to 15psi? ( would eliminate a boost leek for lac of power)

hey, It was still biulding boost to 15 but like its like timming was pulled and powers down is what it feels like. I havent had much time to screw around with it yet, I check coil wires and injector wires, all seemed connected well still. I'll try tomorrow with pulling plug wires maybe while its idling to see if its a dropped cyl or not. I was just trying to understand why when the throwout bearing decided to go I got this problem too.

Have you checked what cel? Maybe a misfire or could your o2 not be cycling?

well after checkin alot of stuff, motor wise i think its fine, I started it back up, still a vib. I push in the clutch at idle the vib goes away instantly, but the throwout bearing sound like it not even there and just some metal on metal sounds.... sounds like I just need a new clutch and flywheel im thinkin.

I had this problem when my tob and clutch went. Got it fixed and it dosent do it anymore. So yes, you're probably right when you said it's those two.

That really sounds like my car did once and was a bad injector turn on the car pull one injector clip at a time to see if u notice any difference in idle if it dosent do anything when pulling off a clip its a bad injector.
