vibration problem in motor

ive got a vibration that is coming from the motor. it does it at idle with the clutch in or out and also shakes slightly during acceleration. its a vibration that comes and goes about every 2 seconds. my car still feels strong and no problems shifting or clutch slippage.
i think it my be my blance shafts, camshaft bearings or something like my ps pump or alternator pulley sticking. i have checked the timing belt and it looks fine. i also checked the harmonic balancer and it looks fine. and the motor mounts are all okay.

can the bs belt slip and make them out of phase without breaking? what else could it be?

normally the bs belt wont skip a tooth but mine broke and my timing belt was fine so i would check to put those suspicions to rest and work from there.

I agree with Bruno96 - check if the balance shaft belt is broken.

when your belt broke what did your car feel like afterwards?. did it drive as normal just with vibration in the pedals and little more noise when reving?

ok an update on the vibration.

i did a timing belt job on my car and found the balance shaft belt was missing all of its teeth but was still going around the shaft, i was lucky it didnt break. i guess thats why it was causing that intermittent vibration, the belt would make the shafts in and out of phase by turning the front shaft at different speed than normal.

i hope this info helps other people with the same symptoms as i had

yeah, definitely your lucky day. when my balance shaft broke - it got stuck in my timing belt and made my engine all sorts of messed up. when i pulled the lower timing cover, the balance shaft belt came out in about 50 pieces. oh yeah, i ended up bending all 16 valves too. it's really strange that all your teeth were missing... seems like that would be from something siezing up... very strange.
