vfaq address for changing brake pads

I found numerous forums that talked about changing brake pads for a 2g eclipse (which is what i have) but i wanted the vfaq address for this because i like how they usually list the exact parts i will need and step by step procedures with pictures. I also would be more than happy if anyone is willing to tell me this instead i can do without the pictures but i def need to know all the tools i will be needing. I am also replacing my struts while i replace my brake pads.

You'll need some metric sockets, probably a 12, 14, or 17mm for the mounting brackets, the new pads and the anti-squeal stuff if you'd like, and that's about it. Just jack the car up and take the wheels off, then just pull off the calipers, remove the old brake pads, and slide the new ones in. You may have to have a c clamp to compress the pistons to insert the pads in fully. As for the struts...I'll let somebody else tackle that.

There is no VFAQ for removing brake pad specifically but it is outlined in the big brake upgrade: http://vfaq.com/mods/BigBrakesInstall.html

It probably doesn't have it's own vfaq because it very easy to do.

Replacing struts is a little more work than you probably could do on your own if you are asking how to replace pads. No offense, but it is the truth. It isnt a hard job but requires a little more skill than a brake swap.

Basically remove lower part of the strut from the knuckle, remove bolts from strut tower under the hood. Remove strut assembly(spring/strut) and compress spring. Remove nut from the strut piston and remove strut from spring. Install new strut, install nut, decompress spring. Reinstall in car. Then most importantly, go get an alignment because it is now all messed up and you dont want to ruin your tires.
