I just bought a 95 Talon TSI FWD and i wanted to make a few mods to start out with. First things first I would like to get a good intake. Now i dont know all ur guys car terms and stuff, but what is a good intake to buy. I don't want to spend a fortune but i dont want a crappy one. Please send me a link if possible to a good one. Thanks.

Hey...

Well first off i suggest u take a look at the Tuning Guide and learn some of the lingo and the basic path to tuning ur dsm before u start looking to mod ur ride... as for an intake... are we talking about an INTAKE PIPE as in off the turbo or an actual intake??

Ill take it as an intake pipe (off the turbo... stock one looks like a black accordian connected to ur air filter with a pipe coming off to ur Blow off valve)

Anyways.... an intake pipe is a part where u can get away with saving some money by making it yourself. Take alook at the TECH ARTICLES in the forum and u can find some good ways to make up ur own pipe. BUT... if ur looking to buy one I recomend searching 144 intake pipe off ebay.... or the PARTS CATALOG here at dsmtuners for some links to vendors who carry parts for our cars...

hope this helped...

peace

Welcome to the world of DSM's. I would recommend just getting an open air filter for now, unless you plan to make serious power in the future. Intake hardpipes on turbo cars aren't extremely effective, but if you insist on having one, I picked up a cheap "Bomz" intake pipe off ebay for like $66, which is cheap as hell compared to the $250 Injen. Also, Dejon Tool has some cheap hardpipes.
