im rebuilding my head. Ive had it ported and polished what are some opinions on manley valves(standard) and crower springs?

manley is a very good company and they make high quality valves. Usually you'd want to go to an oversize valve when upgrading, but just poppin in these standard size ss ones will help....just not as nearly as much.

crower springs are an upgrade...but try finding something else. The tension on these are not that much more than stock. Check the specs.

Be sure to go with titanium retainers too while your at it.

Yea. Per the specs on the Crower springs it is not much of an upgrade at all. I suggest Manley Springs for anything but the most aggresive cams you can find (FP3X FP4 FP4X) of you plan on raising your rev limit in the future. Of course, I think they would hold just fine for any cam with the stock rev limit. SBR has them for a very tempting price.

Oversized valves only help when you run high duration cams and turbo that can flow alot up top. A SMIM on top of that would be a good choice at that point. Otherwise, minimal gains have been reported. But if you have the extra 50 or so bones to get the seats cut, then go a head and do it now while the head is off be cause it will help you later if you so decide to "go all the way"...

Stock size ss valves and manley springs should work great with your current turbo and your current set of cams.
