i have replaced the oil cap 2 times. and checked for cracks, nothing visible, but oil is sitting where you put the sparkplug cover. do i replace the valve cover, can i do cold weld? if the valve cover is cracked, is it repairable or do i need to get another 1

What oil cap did you replace it with? I replaced my oil cap with about four auto part stores and would still leak. Finally I got an evo one and it hasn't leaked since.

Get a valve cover gasket set. Replace all of them, might be the spark plug hole gaskets.
While you're replacing them, clean the valve cover real good and look for cracks. I've used JBweld or Magnum Steel in the past on mine. Just make sure you let it cure

i went autozone, the first time, the 2nd went to mitsubishi to get the oil cap. so the evo 8 is different frm the eclipse oil cap and is better?, so cold weld will do the trick if i find anything?

Yeah, jb weld or any other metal repair epoxy will work, as long as you make sure and clean the area extremely well and get rid of any oil or other chemical residue.

I would replace the valve cover gasket set with either a mitsu or felpro. Those are the only gasket sets I really trust for most applications. And I have had the same issue before, and there is usually a crack somewhere in the cover. Our valve covers are cast aluminum which is a very pour-is material and weakens over time. They don't like being removed and torqued down 100 times. Which also brings up the fact of how tight are you torquing the bolts? I believe the FSM (Factory Service manual) says something like 3-6 ft/lbs. Over tightening these can crack the cover (especially if you use stainless bolts). I don't use silicone, but some members put a small amount of it around the gasket itself to help with sealing. So if a new gasket set doesn't solve the problem, it wouldn't hurt to swap covers. And the evo oil cap is slightly different in design, but fits the same.

yeah i bought new bolts for it, got it cleaned and it has a small crack close to where you bolt it in the middle, i will try to clean it and jb weld, but also going to consider getting another one, how long will the jb wel hold if i do it temporarily and does it also affect on how much i boost?

Jb weld, if applied properly is a permanent repair. Although if you have a few extra bucks to spend I would have the spot tig welded. This would ensure the crack wouldn't re-open or continue to leak. Or just get another cover and be done with it. And this should not affect the amount of boost your running as long as that pcv system is still doing its job!

make sure you use a scotch brite pad on the spots you are going to cold weld with, to ensure a good bond to the cracks

The junk yard is a great place to look for valve covers. And they're cheap! Or you can always splurge a little bit and buy a powder coated valve cover that's ready to go for around a bill.

I understand that jb welding it may work, but sometimes its better to just replace it depending on location and size of damage.

On a side note...

Speaking of oil caps. I remember when mine started leaking. I just bought a new gasket and installed it on top of the old one. Made the cap feel very snug when installed and leak went away.

i went to the junk shop and saw a non turbo eclipse 1g, their valve cover will work for turbos too right

Do your self a favor and replace valve cover gasket and it should come with park plug gaskets as well. All fixed. Yes the non turbo will be the save valve cover.

1st generation non-turbo are 4g63 motors. Valve cover is the same. The 420a Chrysler motors were introduced in 1995 (2nd gen) non-turbo motors. 1g will be fine. Motors are the same as 2g turbo except around 93-94 and earlier they are a 6 bolt 4g63 which have different parts internal/external.
