Valve adjustment settings?

Adjust your valves? Meaning you have adjustable cam gears?

Even so, I think the only way to get the best benifits out of adjusting, would be through dyno tuning. Dyno your car with no adjustments, then start adjusting and dyno again.

OP poster, you were at a shop that does mostly honda work weren't you?.....anyways self adjusting 420a valves are the sh%t, just do your oil changes promptly.

Ok i have a 1997 Eagle and the cam followers are all way over tightend and we dont know the spects on how to adjust them so do any of you know what the adjustment is on them???

My friend does a lot of mechanical work, and has never seen them that tight. He thinks, that them being to tight its making them rub a little to hard, and can see it's made them worn more then they should.

I wanted to adjust them because, they are making unwated noise.

One of the benefits of using the search function, is you may not look so foolish. I just typed in "valve adjustment" in the search function of this forum and the corresponding link that I came up with would have answered your question (with reasoning and other info).

It's a little frustrating to us to answer this question just a few days ago and then have pretty much the exact same question pop up.

You will learn more by doing a search, than if we just spoon feed you info :thumb:

Explain to your friend that hydraulic lifters run zero lash, and give a look to "lifter tick" in the Search here.

Try a can of Restore from Wal*Mart.
