I'm trying to fix the vacuum lines since I heard a MBC T'd into the BOV won't let it work properly (I didn't do this, was like it when I bought the car) and I needed to know where the MBC line from the WG needs to go. It's a Evo III 16g turbo.

You need to drill/tap or weld a nipple on the j-pipe for a boost source. Or you can also drill/tap a nipple on the comp cover if you're up for it as well.

ok, I see the spot on the J-pipe your talking about, do I just put a brass fitting into or do I need to drill into it? and no, I don't have anything hooked up to the bottom nipple on the BOV, what does that go to?

You should drill and tap any fitting with its mating tap size. 1/8 npt fitting should have a 1/8 npt tapped hole. Its how it creates a seal, I dont understand what you mean by just "put a fitting into" it, if you mean just push it in then, no, it will not seal. Some have sucess with JB weld. I prefer to drill and tap, its not too much more effort and its well worth the results.

Bottom nipple should be hooked up to a boost source also, but some will argue it can be left open.

can you take a picture of the part on the Jpipe we are talking about? Because if the j pipe had a boost source it should have been capped off, it would be a boost leak.

I just noticed the link under the pic you posted, Makes sense now. but is it possible to put it into the J-pipe, I'm not 100% sure if the turbo will come off without having to get new bolts in certain places. last guy kinda messed up alot of it.

Where do you recommend putting the lower fitting line?

The J-pipe and compressor housing are two different things.

The compressor housing has a threaded hole, but its a metric fitting thread and does not penetrate the housing(what I mean buy that is that you need to drill through the housing, so that the positive pressure travels out). If you cant take the turbo off or do not want to, I would just work with the J-pipe since it can be easily removed.

What do you want to put into the j pipe? or do you mean compressor housing?

I would just drill and tap the j-pipe or have a NPT fitting welded to it.

Sorry. was meaning is it possible to tap into the J-Pipe for the NPT fitting. I'm not worried about it right now, I will take the Turbo off in around a week or 2 when I have plenty of time. Just need time to get off work to do it.

Thank you for the help agentorange313!
