Well as most of you know, my car is running rich. I got my CEL pulled and i am now going thru the list of things to do to the car to get it running right (from what the CEL pull told me) Im going from cheapest to most expensive.

I changed the spark plugs, cables and boost. Didnt help.

It says something about my Vacuum hoses. Now the owner before me blocked the hoses off. They took them out and capped them off. Now today when i looked at my engine, i seen the caps were bad and the vacuum hose valve was sucking in air. So i went and bought new plugs and blocked them off really good. Now my car stalls out when i start it. I have to give it gas to keep it from stalling and then it will be fine. Should i just go buy and put the vacuum hose tubes back on? What would have been the reason for taking them out and blocking it off?

Next would be the throttle body hoses/tube. It says they could be loose or torn or whatever. But i dont know where they are, so can someone point me in the direction of that?

Also, i went thru and tightend everything i could that gets preasurized. That didnt help either. I am going to do a boost leak test though. Hopefully that will help..

After i do that the last option is to get a new MAF. I pulled mine and its clean as a whistle. Maybe its defective though? Who knows. I hope i dont have to get a new one because thats sort of expensive..

Any and all help is appreciated.

I don't know man, I dont think ALL of your Vacuum lines should be blocked off?!?!?! The Car will NEVER idle with NO vacuum lines.

When the Throttle Blade is CLOSED your engine pulls AIR through the Vacuum Lines...Causing a "Vacuum" and supplying the engine with the AIR that it needs to stay running. If you block them all off you would have to adjust your throttle blade to stay slightly open at idle

Try hooking ALL of your vacuum lines back up the way they should be.

Vacuum Diagram is on the underside of your hood

I would do a thorough check of your vacuum lines to the fpr. You can have those other hoses blocked off. Many people do it. They pulled the hoses to remove the egr. It helps keep the engine cleaner inside, and eliminates some of the clutter;)When your throttle body plate is closed the engine is pulling air threw a small passage that is adjusted by the BISS. Your isc also has a hand in letting in the proper amount of air at idle:)You DO NOT have to open your throttle plate at all. Thats what the biss is for.Try adjusting the small phillips screw in you throttle body. Turn it out until you have your desired idle. Also you might want to find someone with link or another tool to lock the isc in its default position. If you cant find anything to lock the isc just adjusting the biss should helpl you out.

Sorry I didnt realize it was his EGR...I though he said "ALL" of his vacuum hoses were blocked off.

And If he wants his CEL off he is going to have to hook the Vacuum hoses back up

Your ECU "learned" to run with the leaking vacuum line caps. When you repaired the leaking caps you changed the learned settings. I suggest you disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, connect it, and then start the car using the default ECU settings. They will probably be closer to your car's current condition.

You guys lost me with some of the abreviations. Sorry, i dont know them all. Is there a link where i can learn all about this stuff?

vfaq.com but dont know if they have anything on vacuum lines.
there should be a vacuum diagram on your hood or buy a chiltons. i have all mine on my throttle body capped off and only have a few lines coming from my intake manifold. the rest is just emissions

Ill take pictures tomorrow of the area i am talking about. I would like to get some things checked off of my list from my CEL pull. I dont want my car running rich anymore:cry:
