Using washers on the pivot ball on a 1g, anyone done it for better clutch feel?
and...
I need a cheap clutch alignment tool because i don't know where mine went.

I used one washer about 2mm thick.
It is a 90 awd, with stock clutch and flywheel, the pivot ball is used and fork is used, new throw out bearing.

I am only doing this cause i know with the act 2600 it helps with better clutch feel.

Any insight?

I had the 2600 before but my budget wont allow it now, so i have to crap out on a stock replacement. I wont be running a 50 trim on this so until i can get money for a new turbo it will stay semi-stock, since i sold my 50 trim and supporting mods cause i needed money.

I just wanna know if it will help the clutch grasp and release better.

"WHEN INSTALLING THE TRANSMISSION DO NOT LET IT HANG BY THE INPUT SHAFT"

I accidentally did this how can i check for damage, or what can happen from this?

Jack broke and i did not want it to fall on my face so i had to let it sit for a bit till i could get someone to help me.

I have the pivot ball shimmed in my car and it did help. Next time my trans comes off though it is getting a new ball and fork.

As far as a cheap clutch alignment tool... do you have a drill press or a lathe handy? I needed one and just made it out of a piece of 2x4 that I turned to the right size. Can't get much cheaper than that.

spec clutches aren't that expensive and are damn good, give them a look at some of the vendors sites.

Fidanza 2.1 clutch 269shipped on ebay.

I dont have the money, i just sold my 50 trim and other parts so i can buy a clutch and Christmas stuff.

That is why i ask.

This is not another "I need advice on a clutch thread."

Not trying to hijack your thread here but what does shimming the pivot ball do exactly? I've been having trouble with mine not disengaging fully. My pedal grabs so low and I'm out of adjustment on my master cylinder. It makes it difficult sometimes to get into first and reverse mostly. Would shimming the ball fix this or should I get the extended slave rod?

RRE's Clutch And Flywheel Tech Info

Read towards the bottom. You likely have either bad hydraulics or a bad pedal assembly.

I've checked the pedal assembly before using the usual methods and it was fine. The master, slave, tob, ball, and fork are all brand new too. It still grabs maybe less than 1.0" off the floor. If I'm in gear with the clutch pedal in I can feel the clutch fully let go when I take it out of gear. It isn't grabbing hard but it's just enough to be annoying and cause problems with reverse and first sometimes.

I have a brand new flywheel and clutch, but you guys still are not answering my question

As far as the damage you may have done... who knows. Run it and find out. If it works you are OK. If it doesn't you're buying a new clutch. I can't offer any more advice than that.
