Would it be a bad idea to purchase a used s-afc 2? I am new at this and sooner or later i'm gonna need one of these. Don't really know much about them, but if i did purchase it what happens to all the settings and cofigurations that were made on it. Selling price is 100 dead presidents

If it was in good condition i would buy it. I'm not 100% sure but i think the settings would go away after being unplugged. Which is fine anyway since your gonna tune it for your mods.

$100 thats it? I be wary about a deal like that don't want to see a fellow dsmer get scammed, but me personally I would get a new one that way you know it'll work unless its local then you can beat some ass if it doesn't work.........

If you can see it in action working and in perfect working order I'd scoop it up for $100 without a 2nd thought. If your scared about installing it and tuning your cars fuel levels with it then just buy it and set it to the side until you get a few more things done or a "feel" for how to use its features.

The only thing that sucks about buying a used AFC is the fact that they're rediculously easy to kill. If you short the unit out in any way while installing it or otherwise, it's likely the unit will be smoked.

Like 98RedGs said, if you can see it in action, and it's a good deal, grab it.

thanx 4 the advice fellas... im gonna buy it, but not mess mess with it or install it for a while. there's a lot of sh** i still gotta do

No they dont loose there memory when unplugged.

On another note, I honestly think I would pass if I couldnt pick it up in person and varify it works.

Reason I say this is that an AFC 2, even used it worth WAY MORE then $100.. Hell I just got $240 for one of my used JDM AFC2 I imported from Japan they they FIRST came out. Hell I got over 50 emails on the thing with in 2 days.

Something sounds fishy.
