When this pipe gets hot after some hard driving, is it mainly because of underhood heat or the inefficienty of the stock sidemount ? Would a heat wrap help this problem ? What about an aluminum upper pipe ?.........I have a stock sidemount with a Dave B. pipe and a 14b...

Wrap the pipes in insulative tape.Bought mine at ace hardware in the plumbing supplies.

I would say 65% stock intercooler, 35% engine heat. I noticed a large difference when going from my stock sidemount with some sort of polsiehd UICP and a 16g to a dejon front mount with short route pipes , it got alot cooler, but were still pretty hot. I'd say a combination of both tho.
