Part of my What Was I Thinkin' Blogs, I will post pictures of the process of all my updates. Pictures may not be the best but you will get the idea. Yesterday and today I emptied out the hatch, took out the washer fluid reservoir and moved all lines out of the way. When you do that, it looks how you would imagine:
So after wetsanding it with 400 and wiping it down and hosing it out (yes, just pull the two rubber plugs under the reservoir and you can very quickly and easily hose out your hatch), I got down to business. First I painted the entire trunk with black anti-rust paint by Krylon, including the walls, behind the taillights and basically any exposed metal in the back of the car. Next, I painted the entire floor area with a rubberized style trunk spray with silver speck, it looks great.

I will post better pictures when I get a better light outside to do it with.
If you have a spare weekend and some time to waste, I highly recommend this. Sure its all covered up by panels, but it will stop rust and help if you ever get water buildup in your hatch. Will post my next update soon!
