so i finally got everything i need to make this swap possible and i got down and did the timing on saturday. i have a 2g head with a 1g(6 bolt) block. the only 1g parts i have on the block are the front case, oil filter housing, and the water pump. everything else is 2g. i modified the motor mount bracket, timing tensioner, and the 2g timing cover. i took some pictures and im unsure if the timing is done right. i followed the chilton book instructions but the cam gears look off a little... with the cover on it looks like im off by a tooth or so..

yeah i figured... the cam gear timing marks arent lined up. are the timing marks on the bottom right though?

They look ok but may move when redoing the belt so just be sure to take it all apart again and make sure the top is set first.
