Unported 2g exhaust manifold to 14b turbo 6cm2 gasket or 7cm2 gasket?

I have a 2g unported exhaust manifold that I will be mating to an unmodified 14b turbo. I don't plan on porting it. Do I use a 6cm2 gasket in that case?

What about if I decide to port the 2g manifold out? Still a 6cm2 gasket?

how bad are the crack on the manifold and housing of the turbo

The 6cm2, 7cm2 is commonly mistaked for being the outer size of the turbine housing. It is actually the area down into the housing. The gasket is the same.
As for the cracks, i can see why he would ask, the 14b stock turbine housing are notorious for cracks and leaks.

You are right, I forgot about that. There are other gasket sizes though (and sometimes they are even sold based upon that misnomer). For example, for my GVR4, my 2g EM on my E316g is ported and I know that the stock size gasket's opening would be too small visibly blocking flow to my turbine housing.

I'll check to see how many cracks are in there as well.
 
Just to add the cross section area is measured in 6cm2, 7cm2, etc. The gasket is not really exactly the same, but if you were to port the 14b turbine housing the step bore inlet is 54mm, you can port it to 60mm to match the 2g manifold. But honestly you might as well source a 16g turbine housing, ready to mate up and not cracked.

I plan to keep the car as close to stock as possible though and want to keep costs down. Are you assuming that the 14b turbine housing is cracked? Not doubting you if it that common....but you did come out and say that it is actually cracked. :D

Well i was merely assuming it could be cracked. They usually are, i got a 14b in garage and has small cracks into the turbine housing. It is very common, just saving you some headache in the long run. If yours is fine, then by all means its up to you what route you go. Just check it out and let us know;)
