Has anyone ever installed the unorthadox water pump pulley on a 2 gen whats the easiest way

EASY! LOL!!! It's not! I usually jack up the engine slightly, remove the motor mount and jack it up a little more to get it off... Even If you can get in there with a open end like a gearwrench to losten the bolts there usually still isn't enough room to get the pully off the pump.

Highly recommend not installed this. Our motor's are designed to have the stock pulley with the rubber vibration dampener in it. Putting on a solid one no matter how well balanced isn't a good idea unless it is balanced to the crank. It will cause more problem's then you will gain with it.

He's talking about the water pump pulley. It can be done but dont believe it will be a walk in the park. Theres a reason why the water pump pulley is a 2 piece design. Youll have to remove the driverside mount, unbolt the front mount and raise the engine until you have enough room to install the pulley. Its definitely a pita but it can be done.

If i jack it up by the oil pan with a block between the pan and jack can it mess anything up

This is the usual method when you don't have a hoist etc. Just try to get a good sized block of wood to distribute the weight better. Since your just talking about the WP pully, what exactly is the point of swapping out the stocker? Not sure about the pully your talking about but alot of them are under drive, which I would suspect to be a bad idea with our cars as once you add a FMIC they already tend to run hotter, reducing the coolent flow will just add to the problem.

He meant it's a bad idea. :p

well i dont know about all the hype so i have the WP, ALT and power sterring pullys on my car. So far no probs. I run about 195 to 180 cruising temps so im not running hot and i have a 24 by 12 by 3.5 in FMIC so i think that one persons opnion has stuck with pullys. Therefore no one eles wants to try them. i have everybolt on so i figured why not, an i felt a diff with them. Faster revs and i little more quicker. just my 2 cents
