Are you going to camouflage the car? Definitely the first time I have seen that color on engine pieces before...

tenzo HOCK R racing rims.
i painted them black with flat clear.

this color is intresting, I went with a marble effect with gold pearl and diamond gold pearl. over black.
although i do agree it kinda reassebles a camo design kinda like a raddle snake. either way I'm not fond of gold, but i do like the outcome of these and the rest of the things i will be doing.

the car is staying gloss black and the rims flat with the pagan gold candy headlights, check out my other threads to see up close of those.. i just wanted a clean bay that matched my car.

I do not think it looks like cammo, but I do think it looks a old school. Good work. I would like to see pics of it installed. It is going to be hard to keep that intake clean though. If you do the Valve cover the same way it would look awesome. It almost reminds me of old school gold flake.

Very............................................................. Unique... Car looks good from the outside:thumb:

i do not have a valve cover yet, but the answer is ......yes. the valve cover. and almost absolutely everything else will also be painted in a similar fashion.

yes this is autocolor paint i used and 643 high solid clear.

as for staying clean, well I'll just have to do alot of that i guess.

the valve cover will look like metal ripped open with this showing through, theirs like 200 airbrushed valve covers i've posted in the valve cover thread. I just haven't done mine yet.

i'm considering matching the cold side of my 20g turbo to match, I'm just unsure how hot it gets, if it's hotter than 250 degrees i can't paint it to match with the products i have.

spooling 1g- u want my front bumper LOL, i put alot of work into that thang, it would depress me to ever sell it.
the driver side of the car is in the starting process of color sanding and buffing, nothings wrong with it.

They pieces look good. Very interesting pattern.

One thing, and this is just my opinion: I'd be careful about how many pieces you paint like that. It might get to be a little TOO much going on.

But like I said, just my two cents.

Oh wow. Did you this yourself? It kind of looks like the stuff they dip rifle stocks and such into to put realtree pattern on them. Its kind of a film substance that floats on top of a chemical in a tank.

Anyways if you did it can you do a write up? I love the way it looks.

thanx for compliments.
hmmmm it doesn't look dirty in person. the camera is just having a hard time catching the pearls like the eye does.
although if it looks dirty it should be pretty easy to stay clean. :ROFL
i have my mass and the TB both taped up and ready to be sprayed tonight after work, while i airbrush a dudes tailgate.

as for a write up, I may.... but i will put that in my Paint Faqs thread i spent so much time writting.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/appearance-interior-exterior/72599-dying-failing-clear-coat-merged-7-8-cote-clearcoat-paint-dead-flaking-peeling-rot-5.html#post152100681

i understand that too much could be just that...., but seen that this is mainly black, and turns gold when light hits it, i think the entire engine etc... will look good these similar colors. i will leave constant upadtes and pics of this process as well.
I find it kinda humorous because most DSM owners could care less about underhood esthetics, and so far (you have all suprised me with your nice compliments.)
