alright im looking for some thoughts on a 4 hood pin setup, this would eliminate the hinges and latch and prop rod for a totally removable hood, any comments and opinions would be greatly appreciated to help me weigh out the pros and cons to this mod

This is how most NHRA cars are. You can make the hood lighter if it doesn't have to be able to hold up with hinges.

Basically you just need some Dzus 1/4-turn fasteners and brackets. They sit in tight. A hood pin is harder to get really tight, unless you want to get 4 of the expensive flush mount ones like I have.

i have never really had a problem with the regular hood pins i find that they are inexpensive but durable if you are talking about the handle type ones that are the earo brand or whatever they are really expensive unless you are talking about the key style ones LOL sorry just a little confused.
