I just installed a new 1g bov that was said to be uncrushed but turned out otherwise. Also installed an RRE UICP at the same time. I had to get some radiator hose to cut a new recirc tube because the stock one didn't route right anymore. Car runs fine but the bov is half as loud as before. Any idea what happened?

Also, if I give just a little gas and let go, I get that metal like sound that the type s has but a full boost blow off sounds like a puff of air.

I have a hard pipe intake and a high flow filter running stock boost.

What would it be? I can provide pics tonight if that might help.

You will get a different sound/tone every time you take apart and put back together your intake/ic pipes. That combined with the different characteristics of using a crushed bov and replacing the recirc. tubing with other gear easily explains the difference in sound you're hearing.

From my experience a stock 1g bov has more whistle in its song than a crushed bov does.

This is the closest to what I found through some troubleshooting after work. I tried swapping gaskets which had ZERO effect. Switched back to an uncrushed 1G BOV and now it sounds like a quieter greddy type-s. I think the UICP may have a little to do with the more metallic type sound as opposed to my stock UICP.

The crushed 1g is not to my liking. I originally wanted an uncrushed and the guy that sold it to me told me it was uncrushed. Oh well. Hopefully somebody will want it. I took the time to paint it and everything!

Thanks for the input guys.
