Alright, I had a problem with my auto tranny the other day. Here's some history on the car so u guys can help me out.

It's a 98 auto gst spyder with around 150k miles. Had a new head at 100k miles, i just recently put on:
-EVOIII 16G Turbo with install kit
-Apexi N1 DP
-HKS Catback exhaust
-PTE 550cc Injectors
-XS AFPR
-Walbro 255lph fuel pump
-Greddy 24r FMIC/bov kit
-Untuned basemap DSMLink
-Boosting 15-16psi

-STOCK AUTOMATIC TRANNY WITH 150k miles!!

Here's the problem:
the other day i was driving on the hwy at about 50ish and the lanes were merging. The guy in front was going way slow so i got a lane over and smashed on the gas. The car went no where and the engine rammed into the rev limiter... WTF So i let off the gas going still about 46ish this time... and my car went to IDLE but i was still in D! So i coasted a bit, tried to give it some gas and it would just rev, it was as though i was in neutral. Then a few seconds later, the tranny "caught" and i drove like normal again :thumb: .

Questions:
-What exactly happened?
-Is it true that my tranny is supposed to last 150-200k with proper maintenance?
-Is the tranny going out?
-If so what exactly on the tranny is going out and what must I replace?
-Is the TC going out as well?

I was looking at some end clutch kits and shift kits and found they're really cheap :sneaky: But i'm sure install will run up the bill. I wanna look into a new TC as well. Thanks ahead of time for the help

Well did it do that while the car was in overdrive? If it does it in overdrive only then your end clutch is going bad or getting worn out. If it lasted until 150K using overdrive all the time then you've been lucky! The end clutch is fairly easy to replace. Now if your car is doing that with overdrive off then you have more issues. It could be your tranny pump starting to fail or your torque converter going bad. But if this only happens with overdrive on then it's definitely the end clutch
