Two Questions.....

One i am getting a new alt. and there is an option of getting a higher amp one. They look the same and mount the same and i know on mustangs when running a high out put stereo you get a higher amp alt with out hurting anything. If i get a higher amp alt will it affect anything else???....................Also i crushed my BOV when my car was not running in order for my friends probe to idle with it. but now i think its leaking under booost. Is it ok to block off the BOV mounting hole to test to see if i can build boost and make sure thats the problem... I know long term its not good for the turbo but will it hurt it for like a day or so? My friend has a Daytona and hes running 18psi on it with no type of BOV at all and its been like that for a year with no damage but i dont know if its cuz its a better turbo

higher amp alt = no prob
bov block off no testing purposes = no prob also.

So it wont hurt to do a few WOT pulls at 14 psi??? its just for tonight and tomorrow if even tomorrow

The alt seems to wrok fine so far, But the car will not idle or drive with the BOV hole blocked off.

Do a boost leak test instead, blocking off the BOV and WOT could cause comp. surge. The 90 amp alternator is good, I've using it for a while now.

You're leaking air from somewhere, then. Did you block off the vacuum hose that connects to the BOV?

No why would i block off the vacuum lines to the turbo? I am 99% sure that its the BOV since i crushed it cuz it idles decent and what not
