not trying to hate or enything, seems cool sombody is actually trying to do it. Are you gonna try and go for the multiple air filters? If so where are you planning on putting them? so whats gonna be up with the sensers, just through them out i guess.
Also with a duel exhaust and some duel themed exterior that would be bad ass!

No, I don't have an unlimited supply of $. I just wanted to see if it can be done and put to rest all the speculations and ideas.
The tt will be using one filter. There is a custom y pipe for the filter.
I considered the duel exhaust for show. On the street, it's just more weight.

hey man, i just want to start off by saying mad props to you for turning this idea into reality and also for putting up with a lot of crap on this thread. i've been reading this thread from the beginning because i think it's interesting. i'm looking forward to when you get this thing workig. i'm sure by then this will be one of the most visited threads on dsmtuners.com because of all the buzz this will generate if you take this all the way. anyways... the reason i'm positng on this thread is to ask if anyone has hooked you up with a good tuner tech yet? i know there are definately some very intelligent and experienced individuals roaming the forums and who have posted here, but i thought one of the reasons you started this was to find someone to help you get this thing seriously working.

so this is a reminder to all who visit this forum. the guy here needs a tuner that lives near his area of california. hook a brother up!

best of luck to you:thumb:

Thanks Braa.
I'm taking everything in. Be it advice, help or crap. Once It's all going and the myths of a twin turbo on an eclipse have been crushed. It started out as a show off kinda thing but now it's my goal to have this thing up and running and maybe take out a couple of jerks around here if it works.
No worries though. I have a T4 coming this week so I can get started on the sequencial twin turbo.
I have a contact in cali but I can always use another point of view. Later.....

What do you plan to use for the exhaust switching mechanism?

I'm halfway tempted to design something for that, but I would never use it so I don't want to waste my time.

Let me know what you come up with, I would like to see it.

For those who are interested in Sequential TT setups - this website on FDs (3rd Gen RX7s) has lots of good info - including pros & cons of using a single vs. twin setup.

The site also has a couple nice diagrams (here) that detail how the RX7 twin-sequential setup actually works.

Here's a fun diagram to show you just how complicated the RX7 twin turbo setup is...

Thanks Braa, This is exactly what I need. I figured that I'm going to have to find a way to feed the exhaust from the smaller to the bigger turbo but I wasen't sure how exactly the other sequencial turbos do it. This will really help out.

so is this new diagram going to help you change it around? cause it looks kindof confusing to me

Not really. I just needed to figure out how other sequentials worked. That little flap that switches the flow from the small turbo to the larger on is what we are trying to apply as you can see on the diagram a few treads back.

I've actually seen a 4 turbo mercedes. 3000 hp This thing was intense. The turbo's were custom made by greddy and there are 30+ made. This thing was beautiful.....

Ooohh...so THAT'S how sequential is set up...

Hmm...funny, I figured one turbo would actually FEED the other. Would that work?

I guess you'd have the turbine of the small turbo bolted to the exhaust manifold, a cone on the compressor inlet, and have the compressor outlet feed into the turbine of the larger turbo. The larger turbo's inlet could have a cone as well, and the outlet would run to the IC and into the intake.

Um, this of course assuming that the small turbo outlet pressure applies more force on the bigger turbo's turbine wheel than the exhaust would...otherwise, yeah, no dice. Would it even work? Um...I call dibs on the copyright! :p jk

<sigh> I am but a simple DSM owner.

i really woudlnt worry about how it works if your not planning on doing it...these cars arnt meant to run with two turbos...thats why no stock eclipse has twins...i really dont see the point in doing this other than show...but is something thats hidden under the hood really for show? if someone sees you driving down the road n hears your "twin turbos" are they really gonna know that its a twin turbo? body conversions...intererior conversions...i can see that they are for show...but how is performance part "for show"...last time i check adding a performance part was for "go" and adding another turbo isnt any faster from what im reading....so i really still dont see the point...twins on an eclipse=waste of time, waste of money, and waste of a potentially fast car if done right...i think i would rather spend my money on all the mods that i could than just a twin turbo but thats just me....

are you being serious??? ive never heard of a car with that much HP most ive heard of is like in the 1000-1200 range. if your being serious thats crazy.

say u have a....2g awd whether its talon or eclipse....would you guys rather have...a twin turbo with all available mods for the car or would you rather have one big ass single turbo with all availabe mods for the car? which would be faster? which would cost less money to do? which is going to give your more problems in the future? which would be better for an everyday driver? which is going to give you better gas milage? i think i would go with the single turbo as well as almost everyone on this site...imo its just a dumb idea...thats all

It was an AUTORAMA show they had in Fresno recently. I was walking around hopping to see some imports but they were showcasing hot rods. I was disappointed until I say the mercedes.
It was a full on race car. with a huge custom intake that split 4 ways. I'll try to find pics.

This project isn't for practicle use. I wanted to see if it could be done and to gather facts to the benifits and downfall of having this kind of set up. I'm pretty sure that getting a 20g will have the same effect with less weight.
I'm only using this set up for shows. I have a T4 that will probably do equal; if not better than the twins.

Thats nothing because my boss has a 90 Talon that runs faster than the speed of light with an alien made engine in it. His turbo uses negatively charged ions to produce black matter. I heard his car out ran a comet once.

Hey I saw that last night while I was being butt-probed by aliens

just an idea ive been kickin around, would it be possible to twin t28 turbo a 2g gst. like would it be practical to do it? im going to rebuild a short block and was just thinking i would beef it up to take the 700 hp it would put out
