and those posts right after mine were funny...but im not lying..

I must say that this idea is pretty cool...not that it'll work without tons of tuning, but its nonetheless cool...and how bout this guy...after all the joking and "flaming" not one of his posts badmouths anyone...and he takes the criticism and learns from it...now if all the tuners could be like him....BRAVO AND GOOD LUCK!:thumb: :thumb:

Through a sequential set up, with enough air; won't the smaller turbo stop being effective and just allow air to flow though? and that's when the larger on take over?

The reason you use a sequential setup, is because a large turbo does not offer good boost response at a lower engine speed (and lower exhaust volumes).

So, you use a smaller turbo under these conditions to give the car a little "punch" and to help spool the larger turbo. Then, once the exhaust volume has gotten to the point where the larger turbo can create the necessary boost, you sort of "switch" over to it.

you know, the other day i was thinking about this. i am glad i found this thread. looks like i might just get a 20g or a t28 killer cause i dont feel like doing all sorts of crazy custom things to make my car work. i think it would be easier to use nitrous to spool a larger turbo than a twin turbo setup, but i dont know for sure, and since i have no money im not going to worrry about it. LOL.

Has anybody ever thought of placing 2 turbos in series instead of parallel. I do not thinki this will be helpfull for us but the energy usage is much lower...

I don't think this is a viable option. The energy loss through one turbo is such that the second turbo wouldn't work quite as well.

Additionally, you'd have to run much bigger turbine housings that you otherwise would, to keep from creating a huge restriction in the exhaust. That, coupled with the energy losses, is going to make for one slow spooling car.

I just bought a t4. I'm planning to use the t4 as my daily turbo. I was wondering if I should go piggy back or standalone. I want the best results with the least amount of cost.

Since you say this T4 will be your daily turbo I would go with DSMLink for a tuning system. A full standalone system would not work out too well for a car that is driven often. You would have to switch to a 95 eprom ecu to get the DSMlink though.

cool.
Thanks braa!

If you can do it....i think the best way a twin turbo setup is to have one smaller sized turbo and one huge one. SO at acceleration the small turbo will boost the car and the big turbo will take the backseat, then when higher speeds are achieved, the small turbo will spool up the bigger turbo, so the smaller turbo will wait as did the bigger turbo at the start. Then the bigger turbo will take over and bring your car to very high speed. That's what i've heard would be best for twin turbos....have a small turbo for better acceleration, and have a bigger turbo for higher speeds. Thats' what i think..

GOD I WANNA DO A TWIN TURBO SETUP ON A DSM.......:( would be so much fun to do and show off......o well guess ill leave it to him.:(

is that a supra? i cant really tell. But anyway that looks bad ass, especialy the 3 filters right there all together like that. I wonder how well it actually works performance wise.

sorry to burst the bubble but the guy in Mk4 supra made only around 600RWHP which is very little, I suppose the top end flow whould be a problem where 3 small turbos don't flow as good as t78 lets say and create alot more heat. Altough I can imagine he doesn't have to wait until 4500RPM to build full boost.

OMG OMG OMG What on earth is that? I cant even begin to get an idea of what kind of car that is! besides terribly badass!:thumb:

 Crazy-Ass, Japanese wangan racers! those guys are crazy!

I wanna see the new chrysler four twelve setup. A v-12 with 4 turbos!?! That's just interesting.
