That's not stock. Which company has the TT conversion kit?

The stock system runs 32psi.

Try piers diesel research. ATS and others have systems to but piers is the front runner on that stuff. Got to TDR or DTR or any of the other turbodiesel sites and you will see some crazy trucks.

The reason most guys go single is because it makes huge power for 4 grand. For most regular supra owners 800HP and under you can do that with a single turbo. If you want more, most guys do go Twin however it's almost double the price of a single. (Read $10,000 for HKS GT Twins...)

So saying most supra owners go single turbo is from ecenomic reasons no because it's BETTER. It's NOT. Big HP supra motors have 2 turbos. Count em. 1 + 1 = 2. Yeah that's Twin.

Arn't they cute together?

Fastest supra powered car I think would be the Bullish Motorsports solara's running singles.

I remember reading an article saying that if both single and TT setups were running in a perfect setup that the single would be better. something behind the idea of having consistant flow to the turbo which will reduce lag.

If you are racing and racing only a big stinking single will do it.

Want to get rid of a lag monster? Sequential.

Parallel twins are a waste of $...

For me its one big single or series sequential.

sequential setups are pretty rare, I cant think of any car but the supra that came with one stock. Most(if not all) aftermarket twin turbo setups arent sequential. Its alot easier to go with two equally big turbos, or one really stinking humongous one.

:thumbdown Get a grip. Take Mike Carlin's Supra. Single turbo car making 980whp and 1156 at the flywheel w/o nitrous on the stock pistons and rods.

This is very possibly because, once you want to make over like 1000 whp, it is difficult to find ANY single turbo that will be able to supply the airflow, and will fit and work in your application.

About the original topic:

Mathematically, twin turbos will not be able to make the same power with the same spool characteristics as a single turbo. I won't go into all of it, but basicially flow capacity rises with the square of the diameter, but mass and friction do not. Thus, if you go from a twin setup to a single that will flow the same air, you double the flow of one of the small turbos, but you don't double the lag.

The only reason twins are used in most cases is for packaging.

kind of off topic but isn't subarus ej25tt a twin turbo 4cyl? does anyone know how they run that..?

anyone know the difference between a 600hp 800hp and a 1200hp dyno queen (supra)?

thay all run 12's

haha, anyways all joking aside. twin turbo dsm....... would be great for car shows if you had the money.

and why cant i find any info on hyrbids? i have a 14b hot side i want to use, and play around with the cold side housing and wheel.

i am wanting to do something different. im wanting to run 2 small turbos and a top mount liquid cooled intercooler i just want to know has this ever been done b4 if it has i dont wanna do it ....and i know i know running 1 big turbo will be faster i just want different i have a gs that has a t66 on it and a fmic also on the 95 gs that i wanna put tt's on im boring it to a 2.2

That is one of the longest run-ons I have ever read.

Please clarify this....

You HAVE a gs already?

It has a FMIC?

It is running a T66?

i have a gs with a t66 and fmic not quite right yet still need to upgrade injectors and a few other things its not drivable yet
i have a gs im doing now that is the one that i want to put tt on with a top mount liquid cooled intercooler hoping i can figure out a way to run freon lines around the intercooler to make it even colder im doing alot of different things with this one i dont want the "TYPICAL" dsm thats why i stopped building the last one seems like everyone i see has a t66 or a 16g and a fmic

Its a 4 banger.... keep it a single turbo! And if you don’t dyno it to a tee it will run like crap. But good luck if you do it! Like to see pictures :thumb: Oh I think its been done on some Audi or something.. Well that’s what I herd. But were talking DSM’s so I don’t know. ( I know that didn’t help at all :( )

well we actually just ordered a mobile dyno not sure how well those work but our budget was limited
i have searched online for hours trying to find a tt eclipse or talon but i have not found one that is the main reason i wanna do it mostly for the wow factor i mean we are hoping to be in the 500-550 range which i dont think is unfeasible

Twin turbo 4g63's have been done.
I don't know about twin turbo 420a's.
I don't know what wow factor you are looking for, I wouldn't be excited.
Good luck either way, and be sure to post pictures once you get it running.

-T

you would not happen to have a link to the tt 4g i would like to see how they got it all under the hood we are thinking were gonna try to do something similiar to the turbonetics toyota but if i can get it all up under there i will

I tell you. These damn kids always going for the 'wow' factor.

Its like that guy who wanted to have that awd talon esi. because it would be cool. different.

You know why people have the same 16g,550's etc... setup? becasue its proven. it works. and most people just want to go fast and dont care about it either way.

In the end, who is this for? yourself? to prove you could custom fab something like this? Is it something you have wanted to do to challenge yourself?

Or do you want to do it to impress us DSM'ers?

Cos i can tell you, alot of it wont go beyond a single post.

First we'd be like "cool" then after that, we dont give a fvck. Still runs 11's, eh?:|

good luck to you with your project though :thumb:

I smell BS, I dont believe a word of your setup. If you had a turbo kit, you'd be listing more then a FMIC and "mad tyte t66", but if you really wanna twin turbo it, get ahold of 2 9b's from a 3kGT.

Right. I bet you have a t66 on your GS. Do you have any ####ing clue how BIG that turbo is?

We need proof. Pictures, etc.

You can't even type correctly, what makes us believe you have a T66 on your GS?
