So I installed my MBC as it stated on the instructions, I started with it closed all the way, now my boost gauge spikes to 20 psi. Thinking that it may be hooked up wrong, I did it the other way, drove, and boost gauge spiked to 20 psi once again... Could it be a bad mbc? I've had for a while now as I saved it from my boosted civic si setup, and it worked perfectly then. The hoses aren't but maybe 5 inches in length either way, should I shortened them some more??

Any help is appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!!

My TurboXS has the line running to WG on the bottom, and on the side the pressure source.

Also, if its turned all the way in you should be running stock/WG pressure.

Maybe eliminate the BC and see if the waste gate opens like it should. If it does and you've made sure the BC was hooked up correctly you could probably say its the BC.

5" or 7" or 20 shouldn't even matter that much, still shorter is better and cleaner. Did you start by verifying the correct spring / ball are installed. Verify there are no clogs or kinks in the hose. Did you zip tie all hose ends to prevent leakage? Make sure "closed" it the right way.

Well before I installed it, I was running a steady 14 psi pressure, I've tried both ways, maybe ill try your way tomorrow. LOL

All hoses are zip tied, I'm going to use clamps to ensure a seal, and the mbc is closed tight. Not overly tight, but it is surely sealed.

DId you assemble it or did it come pre-assembled? My Hallman Pro has a small hole on the waste gate side that if covered will cause it to malfunction. I would verify the installation, check hoses, zip tie, verify you have it turned the correct way and if all else fails, get a Hallman Pro mbc.

It was preassembled, as I've seen most Turbo XS boost controllers.

I did before installation, I don't believe Xs mbc move up.or down that I know of.... It's.pitch black outside so I'll have to see tomorrow LOL

Think 99 eclipse is talking about your boost gauge going up and down.

I did. My boost gauge just shoots up to 20 psi even closed, I'm just gonna unhook and run it stock.

Also, there was another vacuum line that was teed off to the side to a sensor of some sort to the opposite side of the turbo, what would that sensor be? I'll post a pic asap

What is this sensor here? It sits right under the intake . It was tee'd off originally from the comp housing and the wastegate. So I kept.it the same when I installed the mbc.

Factory boost control solenoid.

Try running wastegate pressure and make sure your wg is operating properly. Connect vacuum line straight from your turbo compressor housing to wg actuator. Should boost to ~10psi.

I ran a xs mbc on my first 2g and it worked fine. Cap off the factory solenoid and try it.

Ok.I did just that. Drove it.and.it's.reading a steady 10 psi. Can I just cap the solenoid off and try the mbc that way?

Cool. I'm about to do that
