I know everything basically, I've been researching for quite a long time. On the Hahn site, the Stage III is there, but it's under construction, is there a place I can look to see what all comes with it and to buy it or do I have to call/e-mail Hahn? Now, if I have the supporting fuel system, how much psi can I run on this kit? I think it comes with rods and pistons, not totally sure. But say I have rods/pistons w/ fuel system, how much psi can I run? Would cams and cam gears let me up the psi as well?

I have another question. Once I get it turboed, say I want to order cams or something, do I want to order them for the 420A engine or the 4g63t engine?

The hahn kits do NOT come with rods and pistons. If you had the right fuel system and forged internals, there is really no limit to how much psi you could run, but then you would most likely run in to other problems such as traction issues and also tranny issues eventually.

Hm, I was reading an old thread while I was searching and someone said the Stage III came with those things as well as many others. Do you know where I can look to see what all comes in the Stage III, besides actually contacting Hahn?

Sorry that made me laugh. LOL

I didn't think Hahn offered anything above a "stage II". Your best would be to contact them. I've never seen a Hahn kit come with internals either..
By everything, I meant the basics LOL. Well then, this person was obviously lying LOL, let my get the post for you...

i installed the stage three turbo system fromn hahns it was the best thing i ever did i was thinking about the star kit but i got the hahns kit with everything you need the only thing that is missing in my car is a fuel management system but i run 15 psi on the street and keep right next to a corvette zo6!!!!! but my motor is built. the third stage sends you je pistions, crower rods, ignition from crane with a map sensor and retart switch, profec b boost controller, greddy type s bov, thermal reaserch and development cat back, booster fuel pump, fuel regulator system, a piller gauge pod, autometter, boost gauge, super 16 g turbo, manifold, i also upgraded to the tight looking front mount intercooler, the piping is awsome and a turbo filter. but if you are going to rebuild your motor make sure you change your valves all of them it is important i threw a valve on my new motor with only 256 miles on it!!!!!!!! was not happy but other wise when my car gets to normal operating temp hold on to yourself because i can smoke the tires at 60 mph going down the freeway. it is pure adreniline but strongly recomend using hahns!!!!!!!!! i am very happy i did i just need a fuel management and i can run 30 psi with a new clutch from them because i ate my brand new centerforce stage two there is to much hp in my car. so do what you want but dont go star you cant keep upgrading like hahns. they now have 7 stages!!!!!!! weee haaa

That's his post.

Well I did a little more research on this Stage III and I found the census to be that it is the Stage II kit w/ forged internals and you'd be better off getting Stage II, then buying internals elsewhere. So, if I get the Stage II, forged internals(rods and pistons), then adequate fuel system, I'll be able to run 15psi?

You will easily be able to run 15 psi.
So, if I wanted to crank it up to go to the track to see what I can run, about what can I max it out at without damaging?

that depends on your compression ratio with the new internals, how well your tune is, front mount? headstuds/gasket? there are a lot of factors, get the kit installed, see how 15 does, and work from there is probably your best route to figuring your max out.

I will have a FMIC with new cometic gasket and APR headstuds. I don't really know much about tuning. Should I get an EBC and SAFC-II or just get DSMLink? Does DSMLink come with an EBC or no, I'm not sure. So, where could I take it to get it tuned good? Sorry for all the noob questions, LOL.

DSMLink does not work with 420A cars.
Oh yeah, I remember reading something about that. So I guess EBC and SAFC-II it is then.

Is there a system that has a launch control set up?

Mods, please move this to the 420A Tech Forum!

Honestly, what you need to do is go into the 420A Tech Forum, not the Newbie forum and get some real answers from people that know the 420A motor and have turbo'd their 420As with the Hahn, Star, or custom built kits... You are talking mostly to 4G63 guys over here... Trust me... You need to start this whole post over and go the 420A Tech Forum... And by the way, 420A newbies are supposed to post their 420A tech posts there anyway! :thumb:

Yeah i would agree, that is the way to go. You will get a lot more people to answer your questions in there.

Your two best options for tuning for high boost with our cars is MSns or the Hahn Portfueler or some other type of 8 injector setup.

You should really check back on the hahn website, because they did update the other stages and now have a complete write up of what they did to acheive that.

You should make a phone call or write an e-mail to hahn, to find out what kind of setup they were using and any questions regarding their specific setup.

then hop on over to www.2gnt.com and look up everything in there mods/tech area, they should have a nice list of things you need to know.

i just had a customer order a Hahn stage II kit(2-3weeks to ship). They do have many staged upgrades now for the 420a motors. I believe they told me stage 5 was a 20g kit dont quote me on that. BUt for a stock motor the stage II kit is the route you go. Its good for 275 crank hp. Ill keep you guys posted on the install and some performance numbers.

Thanks guys for all the info. No one answered my earlier question... since our, well my car is FWD, is there any sort of launch control setup out there on the market what won't kill me price wise? Oh, and the Hahn Portfueler... if I buy that, what parts does it replace... like if I get that will I need injectors, fuel pump, etc.?

I'm looking at some Crane Cams, but I'm not sure which stage to get, which do you suggest...

Stage I
Great for daily driving with good mid range.
Use low restriction intake/exhaust and aftermarket ECM for max performance.
Works well with stock engine compression.
RPM range idle-6,500.

Advertised Duration Int/Exh: 242/242.
Duration @ .050 Int/Exh: 200/200.
Lobe Separation: 108.
Gross Life: 354/354.

Stage II
Nitrous profile for street/strip.
Use low restriction intake/exhaust.
Good power on or off bottle.
Use Crane Cams nitrous controller Part Number 6000-9816 for max control.
RPM range idle-6,800.

Advertised Duration Int/Exh: 246/246.
Duration @ .050 Int/Exh: 204/204.
Lobe Separation: 110.
Gross Life: 364/364.

Stage III
Features unique "split duration" lobe profile design (exhaust duration is less than intake duration).
"Spools" turbo faster for quicker boost and response.
Reduces turbo lag time.
Strong upper mid to top end with turbo/
For max power use intercooler and low restriction intake/exhaust.
Use with aftermarket turbo system.
RPM range 1,500-6,800.

Advertised Duration Int/Exh: 246/238.
Duration @ .050 Int/Exh: 204/196.
Lobe Separation: 108.
Gross Life: 364/345.

I was thinking Stage III because I'm going to be turboing, but I may be wrong.

Not unless you invest in some sort of a complete engine management control unit that has a stutter box feature.

Other than that, you could opt for an LSD (which is pricey) or just vigilant throttle control (hey, it works for Hahn).

It doesn't really replace any parts other than the stock FPR and fuel pump; other than that, it's just an addition to your stock setup.
