I just purchased a new evo 3 16g turbo and havent ran oil through it yet, but I was wondering is the turbo cartridge(shaft) supposed to move a little bit or is it supposed to be really stiff?I can grab the intake side and the exhaust side of the turbine and move the cartridge(shaft) a tiny bit.Is this NORMAL for a new turbo?I was told that its for oil clearance!Any help would be appreciated.

"14.229 on the ol' T-25 @18psi and 109mph not bad huh!"

ok It kinda freaked me out because its brand new.So how do I know what too much shaft play is?I just took off my t-25 because it was making a superchrager noise instead of the hissing sound it normaly makes and It also has shaft play but it a little worse than the 16g.do you know how to tell the difference between the 16g and a 14b?

Too much shaft play is usually noticable when you can A) see that the turbine wheel is hitting the inner walls of the turbo. (There will be scratches) or B) you can move the wheel in and out allong with side to side. As soon as you start your car and let it warm up, if you could physically stick your hand in the turbo and grab the wheel you would see that it has tightened right up from the oil and heat.(I am in no way telling you to do this) Trust me. You will know when you have too much shaft play.
