Hey, I've searched and read plenty of threads on porting my turbo and exhaust manifold but now I need the hardware to do it. Can anyone recommend die grinders and carbide bits to use? If possible, something that can be picked up at a local store such as Home Depot, Lowes, or Sears? Thanks guys.

Be careful when asking for carbide bits, you might end up with drill bits, ask for carbide burrs. Here is where I got mine, gone through 3 1/2 sets of porting and still on the first burr.

I tried all the stores you listed and none of them had the proper bits. So I just ordered it through ebay and waited a few days. Here's what I use:
tungsten double cut carbide bur

This thing removes so much metal so quickly its crazy. I was trying to do it with sand rolls...hell no! I then read up on it and did some searches. Also wear eye protection and something to cover your whole head. I had shrapnel flying at me when I was porting my O2 housing. I had to pick it out of my arms and my head/hair(whats left of it). But yeah this thing is awesome...I even used it to remove some metal around the car. Works amazingly well and hasn't changed the way it looks since I bought it. I also ordered some abrasive sand rolls from eastwood to clean it up a bit as well. I bought my air grinder from freight harbour tools for $19.99 and this bit for $7.99 works like a charm.

Napa has a slew of them up here in North Dakota on display. Napa also doesn't have shipping costs for items that are in stock ;)

Summit Racing sells a great priced porting and polishing kit for die grinders.

It's what I've used for years.
