turbo hissing normal?

well when I put some load and boost my 91 tsi... it makes this slight hissing sound that I can hear when I turn off everything in my car while flooring it (eg: heater fan, cd player, etc)..
I've read somewhere that this could be the turbo spooling, there could be a boost leak, or my turbo is dying??

it's not a big big noticeable sound but its just a slight hiss that comes on(that I hear from the inside of the car while driving) when I totally put a lot of load on the throttle

Yes they do but it could also make that sound when the turbo is about to go my hissing got louder on my car when my stock turbo crapped out make sure you take a look at your shaft play on your turbo and go from there..
