Hey everyone I'm not a DSM guy, I'm actually a TD (Turbo Dodge) guy but I know you guys have a lot of knowledge in turbos so I figured I'd ask y'all some questions about them. First of all, I am rebuilding my engine and I'm looking for a new turbo, I am considering the Garrett GTX3582R, the Holset HX35, and the Holset HX40 but none are exactly what I want. I have a 2.5L 8V I4 and I'm looking to get 350- 400whp. I'm looking for a twin scroll, water cooled, external wastegate turbo for a decent price that can provide me with the kind of power I want. Any suggestions for turbos or any info at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
I believe yours flows 300CFM.

I should specify, I believe yours COULD flow 300. I think it's more like 230 stock.
 
The evo 10 does not have a 4g63, it has a 4b11, the only evo that shared the dsm head is the 1-4 i believe, not even positive about the 4 because it might have the same head design as the 6-9 which are 4g63 but completely reversed LOL. Ahh so many flavors of 4g63 it makes me warm and fuzzy inside.
 
the second list of numbers was fora stock evo 8 head. The evo 8 has a 4g63, but apparently not your head LOL. sorry. Thanks for the info though, I'll have to keep that in mind for future reference.
 
The cylinder head/cam makes all the difference in the world.

8 valve 2.5L at 78% VE is moving roughly the same air volume as a 16 valve 2.0 @ 93%

Numbers are for demonstration, but still ball park realistic.

:LOL: I'll give the HX40 a shot and if it's over powered I'll get a HX35. My friend is making me a custom equal length, twin-scroll header for it. Thanks everyone.:thumb:

BTW here are the official flow numbers for my head.

.200 lift: int. 123.2 Exh. 97.1

.300 lift: int. 179.2 Exh. 127.3

.400 lift: int. 213.4 Exh. 144.9

.450 lift: int. 223.2 Exh. 151.8

.500 lift: int. 224.9 Exh. 157.4
