Turbo header install problem, please help!

Okay, yesterday me and a friend attempted to install a pacesetter header into his 1996 eclipse gsx. For some reason after the install, we started it up and it was making a ticking noise from the right side of the header (if looking from the front of the car) and the car was quite a bit louder sounding in the engine bay. We attempted to drive it around the block, it holds boost, but not as much as before and the noise gets worse as we drive. Eventually the car began to idle kind of bad so we brought it back home and let it sit. Does anyone know what this problem could be? also how much noise above the stock exhaust manifold does a normal turbo header typically make?

p.s. the tick is def. not lifter tick.
 
Sounds like you didn't get a good seat with the header to the head. Unbolt it, check the gasket (hopefully you got a metal one), and put the header back on. If you are putting the header on with the turbo together, it takes some work to get the header to sit right.
 
the gasket that came with the headers is not a metal one, it is kinda rubbery, Please help me out here, it sounds like im landing an apache helicopter in my engine bay everytime i try to drive it!
 
Get a metal gasket and make sure the gasket mating surfaces are both flat and the nuts are torqued. The exhaust is leaking from the cylinder head and some of it is bypassing the turbo causing the slow spoolup and low boost.
 
Okay, metal gasket sealed the header, the only problem now is that his car is a 2g with a 14b turbo, so the lower intercooler piping is flanged at an angle somewhat upwards where it connects to the part of the turbo that actually forces air into the charge pipe. When the header was put on it shifted the turbo over about an inch and so the metal lower intercooler piping doesnt fit up perfectly anymore, hence we now have a boost leak.
