I had an engine overheat and bought another one. The turbo went bad in the replacement engine (bad bearings) and was wondering if there is a chance that the turbo would still be good off of the engine that overheated. The engine overheated bad enough to melt the plug wires some. Didn't want to be out the labor on the turbo if there is a good chance that it is not good.
The reason I asked was due to the mechanic telling me that the oil had to have gotten hot in the engine that overheated in which circulates through the turbo. Could the oil get hot enough to damage the turbo?
