a lot of money

more money

you have to buy kit, fuel, tuning/dyno time, clutches, etc.

buy a turbo car, IMO i think its not worth it.

Greddy Turbo Kit.. Lots of $$$.
Internals .... More $$$.
Stronger drivertrain.. You guessed it.. more $$$.

If you're really set on doing it then go for it... You'll run about 8psi

where in Pa ? give me 1500 + money for parts and ill turbo it.....but anyways where in PA I could help you with this.

all of that and youll only be

a) blowing your tires off
b) still be hanging with me (im near stock)

Not really worth it, just sell your 420a car and go buy a GS-T. I'm turbocharging my 420a but only because I can't just go to a dealer and trade it in, they never sold 2G eclipse here. :(

There are some ups though, 8 psi will have you at about 230 whp while a stock GS-T takes about 13-14 psi to get 230 whp. :p I dunno.

defiant is right it will cost more than you expect but if it is not a problem and you are looking to make your own turbo kit I have a custom manifold with a 50trim t3t4 for the 420a that I was wanting to build just dont have the extra amount of money to do this.

hit me if interested pics will be sent thru email.

Just to clarify, you cant just drop a 4g63 into your car like a honda guy can drop a h22 in his civic.

Dude man go to Hahnracecraft.com look at what they've done and decide if you want something different and original and impressive. I'm not dissing the gst's gsx's and tsi's on here but if you make your esi go fast enough to whoop one of them you'll have them crying. Of course like they said you'll be spinning the tires (till you figure out how to drive it properly and get some good tires up front) and they'll take you off the line with all wheel drive but imagine the look on someones face when you tell them yeah its the non turbo then you smear them in the 1/4mile. And yeah its more expensive and you'll probably break stuff. But its different man you'll have something few people have.

Actually they'd be laughing because you would have spent way more than them and still be less reliable and have far less room to grow faster.

From all the problems I have read about on this board concerning the turbo'd and Turbo AWD cars I am not so sure the reliable statement is warranted. Also, hahn got 450+ HP out of their RS, quote from their website:

Here the 420A engine proved itself yet again: it was now producing 450+HP, enough to propel the 2900 lb. Eclipse to 122 MPH in 11.7 seconds. Yet the car is compliant and cooperative in street driving, still wears air conditioning and goes anywhere!

Not sure about you but 450 HP is quite a bit of room for me.

IMO, if you car is paid for, and you love it enough to keep it for a few more years, spend a few grand to turbo it. Or you could try and find a turbo model that hasn't been driven hard and modded by whoever, and hope it continues to run. If you buy a young one you are looking at quite a bit of change, if you buy an old one they are still 2-3 grand at least and are pushing 100k or more and will need work.

Quick look on Kelly Blue book -
1999 GST-GSX = $10,775-12,150
1991 GST-GSX = $3060-4065

Edit - This also is not a dis to GSTs or GSXs. If one was available and I could have afforded the insurance and car payment at the time I got my RS I would have gotten it.

ok let me just make this all straight, if your brining it to a shop its not worth it. If your doing everything yourself i say its worth it because A.420 5speed 72,000miles costed me 2,800 B. Full T3 turbo setup installed by me was 900 C. Internals (not in yet) costing around 1200 installed by me bored by professional. Total cost to blow the GSX away 4,900. My internals are not in yet cause its starting to get cold and im lazy so summer time. But lets think right now im running 5 psi, once my internals are done i can boost like 20+psi. Never buy turbo kits and learn how to install turbo yourself and i say its worth it all in the end. :thumb:

I have no idea what I wanna do now.. like you guys said it would be cool to have people see ESi on the back of my car and thinking their gonna kill me... but my car has 100k miles on it and i really dont think my engine could handle a turbo at the moment... but thanks for all the advice does anybody know how much the hahn turbo system is?

I don't see where you're going with this because there is no way this was with stock internals. You can make any car make 450hp if you throw enough money at it. My statement was that they would have more room to grow within reason.

Buy a turbo car, and stick an ESi sticker on the back.. :)

False advertising.. Walmart does it all the time and gets away with it.
