i need to replace my block an i have a gst...an i dont wanna get scammed into buying a non turbo block..what are the differences as in appearances or is it have a different code number other that 4g63 ?

The two blocks are identical. Non turbo blocks do not have the oil squirters inside the block. If the block is bare, you can easily take a glance into the cylinders and see if they are there or not. Assuming you need a good block that is ready to run, someone else who knows more about the non-turbo block will have to speak up. I am sure the piston top will not be sunk in (i.e. lower compression ratio) and be flatter since the non turbo is 9:1 compression I believe. Also, check the oil pan for an oil return opening. That is probably the easiest way to check now that I think about it. This would be the oil return line that runs from the turbo center section to the oil pan. Obviously, a non turbo block would not have this. Hope this helps.
