tuning without wideband?

I know what wideband is and how it helps you do good tuning. but is there any thing you can buy instead of this to do good tuning. Is there any other way to monitor a/f ratio.

That's what a wideband does.

You can monitor A/F indirectly, as long as your knock sensor works properly.

When you use a logger, you watch for knock. You tune to the highest level available that doesn't produce knock, and then back it down a little. Then, pop in a fresh set of plugs and do a couple WOT runs, and read them. The plugs will tell you if you're running too hot based on their color.

At least, that's the ghetto way I tune. Many prefer just to use an EGT gauge to see if they're running too hot.

Yeah, I tuned a 302 and a 350 or two this way, minus the knock sensor/logger method and adding a vacuum gauge.
