My base fuel pressure is around 32-34 psi, 40 with the line pulled off. Is this low? Would I be correct that an adjustable regulator allows tuning by changing the A/F ratio without adding or subtracting air? What are the best adjustable regulators and are they a 1:1 with the boost rising? Thanks, Mark

The biggest reason to get an adjusable fuel pressure regulator is to either turn down your fuel pressure because the stock FPR is being overrun, or to run high fuel pressures to compensate for smaller injectors or to increase the fuel pressure so that you can pull more airflow signal away from the ECU to get more timing advance and or eliminate fuel cut. There aren't many options out there, you can buy a set of fittings and a universal regulator like what FIC sells, or there's a bolt on unit like the Buschur. I have the Buschur unit, and couldn't be happier. Both are 1:1 rising rate units. I run 55psi base pressure with the hose off with my combo.

Well you should like Buschur's @ $300.! I am thnking of thr Charged air unit as sold by full throttle speed for one. Ful throttle seems to sell items ny other manufactures that are quality items so that their(full throttle) Name remains in good standing. the fact that the FPR's are 3 week back order must say something to their popularity.
Do you run55 psi ad then put te vacuum line back on? You still must have to tune out quite a bit of fuel at idle and cruise. I am getting one to allow me to let the ECU think less air is passing into the motor so i can get more timing, of course with the proper mount of fuel. That sounds cool! Man 55 psi would allow quite a bit more timing wile maintining a safe a/f ratio. mark

I don't know if the 3 week back order (more like 3 months) says more about their poplularity or poor customer service. Charged air doesn't produce those units, and I forget who does exactly, but they've had supply/demand problems as long as they've been around. Yeah, 55psi hose off, about 18% idle correction with the AFC, this is with 550's and a 2g MAS.

Well perhaps I'll look for another. I do believe it migt be charged air. I will try the net for them! mark

Is charged air still in business.Actually the charged air 1g one looks like it fits better. The one I got from fulll throttle and it did take several weeks to get took some mild modifying like had to break of a few wire hold downs that were in the way from what I remembered. But it seems to work fine and looks fine and was only 144 bucks.I got a b and m guage also.I have had no problems with full throttle stuff.I have used their maf translators on my lt1 and ls1 fourth gens and also their scanmasters.I will be buyingn their dsm scanmaster for sure.Anyway unless your in a huge rush just order one and wait for it.

And that does seem very high but you do have 550s only right?

Yes, the 550's, combined with the 2g MAS with no correction or additional fuel pressure was incredibly lean on my car. I also need the fuel pressure up top as well with the boost and timing that I run on race or pump gas.

AGENT EZZARD what do you mean by charged air "JOINT"?
And Al what id you have do to install th egulator? does it tune well for you? Thanks, Mark

Think he meant charged air unit. The afpr was plug and play.you take off old one and bolt it up and plug in vac line and fuel return line.Thats it.It was very tight where they wires go into plastic holders.just broke the plastic holder thing and wires stay there fine. The charged air one looked slightly more compact. Also I had a little problem with vac line fitting coming loose but a tiny bit of loctite seems to have fixed that up.

Darn I need to get my new dig camera working and learn how to post some pics for things.

You can get fancier regulators if you want to mess with lines and stuff.I didn't .I orginally just planned on building a moderately powered street car and was planning an evo16.Then decided just a bit more was just right for me and now everything is being upgraded..gets expensive.

Yeah I meant regulator. Anyway, the regulator in my gallery is a 1G regulator on a 1G rail with a Jegs 100psi liquid filled gauge.

The regulator does exactly what its supposed to. My pressure is set to 43psi and I;ve never really had any problems with it.

www.ongreenperformance.com also markets these exact same regulators.
