how can I tune my type-s to whistle louder? I was looking at clips of type-s bov's and they whistle way more intensely then mine.

You can't tune your type-s to be louder. The adjustment screw on it is to adjust the spring strength depending on how much boost you are running so that it doesn't leak. Are you venting or recirculating because obviously vented blow off valves are much louder and that's probably what you heard if yours is being recirculated.

im not stupid, i have a 12 second car.....i know how all that works i was just dont know how the type-s works, I did the single spring modification but oh well....im going with a ssq anyways thanks for the help.

I've always found looser spring pressure gives me louder blow offs. If you're recirculated, you'll get a louder sound with hard return piping. If you're not, make sure you have the horn attatched, and if it's a model with a quick release (like the 1G BOVs), make sure that's functioning properly. I had a 1G that did not have the quick release working and it was real quiet/hardly blew off at all.

A type-s doesn't have a horn, but a type-rs does.

To the OP, I agree that a lighter adjustment seems to produce more wooshing and sound, rather than a quick chirp.
I miss my 1g bov though, I don't much like my type-s although it works flawlessly, just a tad ricey for me.

the type-s is a fun bov if you want to turn heads and let every cop on the highway know you're coming as you're speeding down the on ramp. but like said, just adjust the spring rate and go for a softer setting and you'll get that desired louder whooshing whistle. Just remember to watch your boost. if you set it too soft you'll start leaking boost. Don't make it too hard either. I was playing around with mine and had it set as hard as possible on my old 2g and end up getting a bit of blow-off but still got some compressor surge. :notgood:
