Have been looking for a cheap and easy tuning option for a stock 2g talon running a t28. Heres what I have come up with.
First off, the car has hard pipes, stock smic, t28, ported o2 housing, 1g bov, rewired fuel pump. Thats it. T28 is running manifold pressure, straight from the turbo to the waste gate. Runs great! Noticeably quicker than stock.
I know it will need more fuel, and a means of controlling that. So I researched and came up with this combo.
To deliver more fuel, a 190 lph fuel pump, and a set of 510, or 560cc evo injectors.
To control it, a wide band o2 sensor, the genII MAFT, and a proper boost gauge, then I can plumb in a hallman boost controller.
Would like to keep stock fpr, and stock maf, and boost around 18-21 psi,, what ever is doable for this mild set up.
Reason for this route is to keep the tuning easy, and fairly mild. This car will never see anything bigger than its current t28, and will spend 99.9 % of its drive time just cruising and commuting. It just needs to run well, and have a bit more kick when needed. Im figuring around 280-320 hp as a goal.
I have managed to find all these parts for a good prices so cost could be as little as about 400 bucks total for pump, injectors, wide band, boost gauge, and genII maft. Some used of course.
Good plan, or recipe for disaster??
