I am working on my fuel system here in the next few months and well I have seen some kits that I have thought about getting. The kits i have been looking at come with injectors, pump, and AFC. I want to get DSMLink soon, so my question is should I just skip the kit and get the pump, injectors, and DSMLink? Will this be better than the AFC tuning wise? Or should I just go with the kit? I just am not sure how much control over the fuel you have with the DSMLink. Thanks for the input.

Skip the kit and go with DSMLink. SAFC's work, but you will always be fighting high timing and fuel trim problems. Personally, I don't have a problem with my SAFC & 650cc injectors, but I still suggest that people go with DSMLink. As for control, DSMLink will give you all the control you will need. :thumb:

If you can afford to go straight to DSMLink then I recommend you do it. With an AFC you still need a separate logger to tune with, another option that Link already has.

Just remember you will need a 95 eprom ecu in order to run Link

This is kinda a no brainer... if you're going to have DSMlink in the near future, don't waste money on an uneeded AFC in some kit. Another thing is even after you buy that fuel/tuning kit, you're still going to need a logger to use in conjunction with the AFC to tune with. That logger (as handy as it is) is just more money wasted on a tool you won't really need once you have DSMlink. My suggestion is just to buy the injectors, pump, and an AFPR (if needed) outside of the kit and get DSMlink once you have the money.

With an AFC you are basically tricking the ECU into seeing more or less airflow so therefore it will deliver more or less fuel. This is a cheap and effective setup but only to a certain point. An AFC can only control injectors that are up to 50% larger than the stock injector size. On bigger setups with larger turbos, injectors, etc. this can be a problem as the correction factor needed cannot be achieved with the AFC.

DSMlink is undoubtably better than the AFC when it comes to tuning. With DSMlink you can run any size injector. No size is too big.

... I'd love to write more about DSMlink, but I just ran out of time... I have to work at 2 o'clock. I'm sure someone on here will pick up where I left off. If not, I'll write more tonight. Or maybe even better, read up on DSMlink for yourself.

Thanks for the input. I know that there was alot of possibilities with DSMLink just want to be 100% positive. Will skip the kit and go straight to DSMLink because I plan to get 880 injectors.

Zmann put it best, skip AFC and go with Link. The only thing I would do different is get Link first, if you get the pump/injectors/AFPR you will need a way to tune them. Besides the tuning capabilities of Link, you get access to the Link forum, and you want to talk about a wealth of knowledge there, and it is shared freely.
