TunerPro 9:1 Compression

My compression is 9:1 makes it difficult to tune. I cant set base timing at 5 degrees or Ill have knock all over the place so I have it around 2 - 3 degrees I still get part throttle knock around 6 counts. Boost around 18 psi on Evo III turbo but on that its hard to control creep so knock. Here is what I propose. I need help with TunerPro, or someone that has good experience with it. I currently have a chip somone made that ive been on for a while now but I cant run timing at base 5 degrees, all I need is someone who may have a 9:1 Compression timing map for TunerPro or a file holding the following or were I can learn how to make this into my chip. There has to be someone with a similar setup as mine.

1. what kind of chip, and is that chip set for your type of injectors?
2. do you have a afpr?
3. DO you have a mBc?


Before you started Did you do a run down on everything meaing compression,spar plugs, injector pulsing ,etc etc..?

My current chip is set for my 950s and 2g mass all the setting are great, ive been on this chip for 2 years I had someone make it for me along time ago, the only problem is timing is to aggressive on the chip. If there was a way I could get the file off the chip and alter the timing map please tell me, I have the moates burn1 chip burner and tuner pro, can I get the image with that? If not I have to start a whole new chip? I dont understand Tuner Pro well

If your running a 255 Wally without an AFPR you're overrunning the stock FPR...

255 wally with aeromotive fpr 1g base pressure, afc at 0 on the high side. Guys im only looking for TunerPro timing maps for high compression, or someone that knows how to work with tuner pro

For starters i would recommend a timing map similar to evo8 which has 8.8:1 comprssion which is pretty close to 9:1. The 1g timing map is way too aggressive for that much timing on pump. I'm very familiar with tunerpro, what are you looking to know?

Start with a 2g timing map with 2* pulled across the high load rows. Richen up your wot afr's also. Just use this as a base to start from. Lean it out and add timing as much as you can without knock from there. I would also start tuning at wastegate pressure and work up. Don't learn to tune at 18 psi.

Pretty much covers it, 7.8:1 vs 9:1 is huge in timing curves.
I would suggest getting a good tune at something less than 15psi before you do a bunch of out of tune 18psi runs. It's easier to dial in another 3 or 5 psi than jumping into something thats all jacked up, IE your fuel/timing maps.

or the best way to solve this problem take it to a dyno with a pro behind your program they can do it. Take it for one hour and let them give you a basic setting and from there you can play with what they already provided and then fine une from there. if you can find some one to help you

What plugs are you running?

Maybe try the BR7ES. They are non-projected and I have had better luck with them. I did a test at the track and the projected ones consistently gave me about 2.5-3* knock with the same tune. I won't run the projected ones anymore.

I am 9:1 running 26-28 psi on an 18g with 20* timing on 93 pump with 185-190 psi compression and 0 knock on the BR7ES.

Edit: Oh yeah, about 11:1 AFR.
