ok please someone help me with this problem. i have a 95 gsxw/eprom, and a 97gst with the plastic black covered ecu.
i just got done rebuilding the engine in my 95 and go to start it, i thought it was just dumping fuel. so i check the plugs 2 are fouled (2 and 3). the gst runs great, no issues.
back to the 95, for the life of me i can't figure out why its running on only two cylinders. so i replace the coil, transistor, plugs, wires. no help. so i pull the ecu out of my 97 and it starts right up and idles perfectly, for three seconds and then car just shuts off.
so i decide to try the eprom in my 97 and it idles great and runs on all cylinders. but the car wont go over like 3,000 rpm and then the car just breaks up horribly like it is a boost leak.
so i now know that something is wrong with the 95 eprom ecu, but the 97 ecu runs great in the 97 but when i put it in my 95 and swap the plug wires, it is like a timer goes off and shuts it down.
so. i checked for boost leaks, none. i tried a new coil pack, same thing. new transistor, same thing. yes, i switched the plug wires for the inverted cas. i also checked to see if my fuel pump was the culprit, it is not.
so i have the choice of running on 2 cylinders, or running great for 3 seconds.
please guys, this car has been off the road too long with about 400 hours into rebiulding this shell, so im sure you know how frustrating this is when everything is done and now just trying to drive it to the paint shop before the weather changes. thank you all in advance
