To keep this short i was driving and there was construction ended up in the bending of my tranny pan causing it to leak.

So i pulled my pan off and pounded it back along the part that got damaged. I bought a new gasket and used RTV sealer around the gasket. Put the new filter in and then put the fixed pan back up. I have an automatic transmission by the way. So i filled the tranny back up with Castrol ATF+3. Then i also added lucas' hardshift/no leak fluid as well. I have had lucas in my car before all of this and everything ran great. I get my car back together and drive it. I drove it before the lucas and after it, it didn't make a difference. The tranny makes a hard noise when i put it into gear. It slips like a mofo even if im on it a lil, it will get to 3 grand then just free rev and i let off the gas of course. Alot of the times it will get into gear with a hard jerk. If i downshift manually it takes longer to shift then it used to and its a rough jerk as well.

What would have happened? People said its your tranny. Well it ran and was great before i put my car up on the ramps to fix the pan.

Please help.LOL

did any of the valve body's get possibly damaged? Dont know the extent of the damage to the pan, but if it was bad enough, could be your problem

I have heard tranny shops advise against changing the fluid in an AT that has had bad fluid in it for a length of time. According to the explanation, if an AT has been run for quite some time without fluid change, once you change the fluid it will be time for a rebuild because the clutch packs all begin to slip with the new fluid etc. The guy I was with was literally told to drive the car until the tranny just goes out because either way he was going to be looking at a rebuild.

Without knowing the history of your car that's just one possible cause as to why it happened after changing the fluid.

Maybe someone with some tranny rebuild experience can confirm or deny this theory??

All I can think of is maybe you did not get the filter seated good. Check your transmission fluid level on a level surface. Check it in Neutral if recommended by your manual The older ones had to be in neutral not park or else the level would be wrong. Check with a dealer as to the type of fluid. If this all passes, then maybe the trans needs to go to the hospital. Good Luck

go to a tranny shop and try having them flush it out if it keeps doing it after that most likely it's your tranny that's going.

update.....

Well heres whats goin on now....

I checked the level again after driving it some and found out that it was below the cold line, barely on the stick when it was hot! So i added more fluid in. This seemed to fix it....for awhile. Now it seems to do it occasionally. Like today I was driving and everything was fine then one moment later it was slippin bad again with hard shifts. So i pull over and check my fluid, seems to be a little full but nothing i don't believe to be a problem. So i shut the car off wait a min and turn it back on, and for some reason this fixes it. It doesn't seem to happen everyday. It didn't happen at all yesterday. Maybe its only when my car gets hot? I don't know why turning the car off would fix it for awhile then a day or 2 later comes back. The damage wasn't major enough that pounding it out a little didn't fix it. Nothing else appears damaged.

Hope this narrows things down.
