Hi guys trannys are not my strong point. LOL. So I'm looking at a Galant VR4
5spd. The tranny shifts perfect into all gears but I have to REALLY push the shifter out to the right to get it into reverse. Most of the time I'm going into
4th. I'm thinking this is just a linkage adjustment. Am I right or is it more than that. BTW the clutch is supposed to be new.. Thank you in advance..

Could be that the reverse switch on the tranny is too tight, but you'd probably see a problem in 5th also.

Check the linkage at the tranny for play, and make sure the shifter is adjusted properly. You can also disconnect the cables at the tranny and shift the linkage manually to see if their is any problem getting into 5th.

My money is on the shifter needing some adjustment.
