Okay so I have a 99 eclipse NT with turbo and the car has been idling really shity. so I checked my check engine light and i gave 4 codes.

1. P0138- bank 1 sensor 2 .o2 sensor high voltage...I have no CAT so i think thats why

2.P0140- bank 1 sensor 2 .o2 sensor no activity does this sounds like a bad rear o2?

3. P0401- EGR flow insufficient. I have my egr blocked off, so I think thats why this code is on?

4. P0108- MAP sensor....does that mean my MAP sensor is bad??? could that cause the erratic idle?

I checked and cleaned my IAC, but I guess thats a possibility too?

Does anyone have anymore info on theses codes...especialy the P0108

sounds like you got it covered, I would replace your rear o2 with a new one and possibly use a spark plug spacer to see if you can trick it to not throw the code. Or you could do the sure thing and wire a resistor so it won't throw the code.

Thanks Big Rand, So do you have any Idea why the MAP sensor code is on? Has anyone ever had a MAP go BAD? I wonder if that would make the engine buck? and when I rev it up and then the RPM's comes back down it goes real low like its gunna stall and sometimes it does stall...and I have an automatic..once its settles down it will idle fine but if i rev it up, when the rpms come down that when it wants to stall. Could I have a bad IAC?

I tried to search this and I found one other guy with the EXACT same problem, But he got suspended for having 2 accounts so the thread was never ansewered :|

Do you have a black box Fuel cut defender installed or a missing link, chances are that is where you are getting your code from as when those items don't work the ecu trips out when it sees positive manifold pressure.

Oh Yeah I have the FCD....so that would throw the CEL. I just can't figure out this idle sputtering thing and I see others are having the same problems but no one has the ansewer. I think that my MAP might be bad but I can't be for sure. I cleaned it out and it got worse the car will barley idle unless i give it gas. once it warms up then i can slowly take my foot off the cas and let it hit idle. I saw in other threads that Paul thinks it might be a "dying ECU". So it could be the ECU the IAC, TPS or MAP.... hahaha I guess I just should change them all. Should a new MAP sensor be $173 dollars??? Does anyone know where I can get a cheaper MAP sensor or how I can Test mine? Cause thats alot of money for a plastic sensor.

Oh damn paul thats a good idea!!!! I didnt think of that.
Do you think the MAP could be bad? The Reason I think it might be is cause I cleaned the MAP and put it back in and now it is even worse....it wont stay runnin uless i give it gas, and when I do give it gas its bucking or surging? So the MAP is the only thing I touched, But I guess it could be the IAC too. I don't like to guess, Is there any way to check the IAC with a Volt/ohm check?

I just tried to start my car and it starts but it will stall unless I rev it up and then it does the surging up and down in the RPM's

You can buy a brand new MAP sensor at AutoZone for about $70. I'm not sure if it comes with a warranty of longer then 90 days though.

Okay I just changed the MAP sensor and that was Definatly the problem. I bought the used MAP off E-bay for $20.00 shipped to my door! I installed it and now it runs fine, so thanks for the help.
