I may have a transfer case yoke leaking that is the subject of the leak recall. I have read abot the VFAQ repair. Does anyone know the cost of this yoke should I want to buy one for the "fix"? I called the local dealer and got a $69.95 quote but that sounds really low. I'm not sure they knew what to look for. I do not wish to get into a tug of war with the dealer nor do I wish to repair it with RTV if at all possible. My driving is limited due to an injury but I may have to go to the dealer for this but.....if anyone knows? Great! Thanks, Mark
Addition:
Does the yoke consist of 2 pieces, the splined shaft that slides into the case and the outer part, pressed fit together? I think not but I head that. It would seem that torque would have the shaft in the case spinning the first time the throttle ws hit.
I want to buy a new yoke. The dealer said my car had been recalled and repaired once in '98 and that was that. I thought it was a safety recall and had to be done for the life of the car. So is the yoke 1 piece? What else would I need, a seal, anything else. This has been frustrating and my car is in winter storage. Mark
