Ok I know lots of people have posted on this and I have read it all. I thought i'd explain something that might save someone else the trouble I had. When I did my 90K service the dealership checked the yoke and replaced it. Mitsu then marked it off in their computer that my recall had been compleated. The other day Transfer case when out and all the wheels locked up. Took it back to the dealership and they said there were no open recalls on my car. This was because they replaced it with the original parts and let considered it all done so marked my car off as having the recall work done. So if you have had your Yoke go out and replaced and then your transfer case go out (5,000 miles after they replace the Yoke). You have to tell them it is still under the recall even if it breaks again. They do not fix your car with a new and improved part that won't make it break they just put in the original parts and still have the same design flaw. Mitsu likes to fight and not help you at all. So basically if they tell you know just keep layin out the basic logic of everything to them. hope that helps someone.

Sorry ment to put this in drivetrane :dsm:

its been talked to death about, but poping back up every now in then is ok. Yeah the dealers dont like doing the recalls, it cost them money. I've heard mitsu is a pain to get any recall work done. I have a talon that now looks like a mitsu, cant wait to pull into the dodge dealer and tell them to go fix my talon :tease:

i've had the Tcase recall done 3 times, its a pitta, but at least there not being total crab ass'es any more.

I'm lookin for some federal law on recalls to get Mitsubishi to give me my Transfer case recall, here is my sad story:
9/29/04 Recall work done on car durring 90K service, replace the Yoke and stop the leaking I had.
8/28/05 Stop @ a stop sign and go, get up to about 20miles an hour and I hear it "click click click and then all for wheels just lock up, slide and am about a foot away from ruining my front bumper with a curb.
8/30/05 Go to dealership to have them replace the transfer case. Then they tell me since I already had the recall work done they couldn't give me a new transfer case. I brought up all the point of how it only had to be a little messed up back then to get real messed up now. I even tried making them do it because of their 12 month 12,000mile warenty. thats didn't go over either. I'v called into mitsubishi's 1-800 number and filed a complaint and I called the NHTSA and filled a complaint with them, now what I am looking for is where it says that because it is a safetey Recall it must be done so i don't injur or kill anyone or my self. Now a know a few of you have had like 3 transfer cases done on your cars already. Just looking for something to speed this up because Hayward Mitsubishi is doin the I said its so, so it must be so thing. Please help me with whatever you can, i need my car back as soon as I can, how i take my moms to work.

Ya i called those number and filed complaints on both and recored my file/complaint numbers. just talkin to mitsu they were throwing everything out to void it, first sayin with their warrent it wasn't covered, then it was since the recall work was done the transfer case broke for other reasons, after that it was because my modifcations, I asked which modification would have voided it and the very first thing he said was my BOOST Gauge.....I could not wrap my head around that one, after i told him that is so i Don't destroy my engine early he jumped to it being lowered....now the transfer case is well protected by the downpipe, I scrape on speed bumps but looking at the transfer case my self not a scratch on it, lowering a car doesn't put more stree on anything to do with that transfer case. I can't seem to wrap my head around their reasons for why its void, they fixed the leak but it still broke and all 4 wheels locked, exactly what fixing it should prevent.

With what I have posted in these threads is there any reason anyone can see why I shouldn't get my recall done and get a new transfer case? And does anyone know about how long it should take until i get a reply back from the mitsubishi 800 number and the NHTSA number(2 days? week? MONTH???

Nothing voids the Federal Safety Recall. I have all the mods that you listed as issues and I just got mine replaced. I had to call Chrysler and get them to send someone from the corporation to look at my car to get it done, but its getting done. Just keep calling the numbers and asking for updates and keep bitching at em. Eventually they will crack. Throw the word lawyer around. Keep saying that this problem has caused deaths in other cases and might cause a death in your case. A transfer case is cheaper than a human life caused by a faulty transfer case. The NHTSA number will ###### help you more than the Mitsu number. I can't beleive that the Mitsu Corporate people are telling you that the work they did is voided. Good Luck
