So as I was driving today, when I got off my exit, going about 30mph, my rear wheels all of a sudden locked up. I figured the dreaded Xcase lock up happend to me. It only locked up for about 2 seconds, the went free again.

Does this mean I can still drive the car home and save on towing it home? THen when I get home, I can take apart the Transfer case and install the new yolk? (http://machv.com/1gawddrreyo.html) .
Or is my transfer case shot?

What would you recommend?

What type of fluid should I put in the transfer case?

Thanks,
Dfgu

Mine leaked and the seals were bad. So I went to mistu and got a new seal for the front and the rear and drained the fluid out put syncromesh in so far so good. Do not drive it untill you get it fixed.

So I put some fluid in the transfer case and was able to drive home, but it felt kind of sluggish. Are the internals already burnt and it's time to find a new transfer case?

I need one for an auto AWD if anyone has one... Thanks.
